Through the years it has become increasingly important to Shaklee that every home ought to be one of the safest places to live. That being said, they've created a "Healthy Home" and "Get Clean" line of nontoxic & hypoallergenic products that outperform several national and 'green' brands—or your money back.
As a result, I hope that this article can help you understand how Shaklee cleaning products get the real dirt out of your home when other products do not.
Danger in "Common" Household Products
First and foremost, it is important you understand that when it comes to keeping our homes safe "common" household products can be very dangerous to you and your family.

Although these 'common' household cleaning chemicals have the sole purpose of cleaning, you'll learn they are not "clean" at all.
We use a wide array of scents, soaps, detergents, bleaching agents, softeners, scourers, polishes, and specialized cleaners for bathrooms, glass, drains, and ovens to keep our homes sparkling and sweet-smelling.
...But while the chemicals in cleaners foam, bleach, and disinfect to make our dishes, countertops, bathtubs, floors, clothing, bedding, carpets, furniture, and windows gleaming and germ-free, many also contribute to indoor air pollution, are poisonous if ingested, and can be harmful if inhaled or touched.
Really, everywhere in your immediate environment would make you cringe if you knew the long-term damage some of these chemicals could do or are already doing to your body.
...Today may just be the last time you let your kids play on the very things you just cleaned with such chemicals.
"You know that good, healthy feeling you get when you’ve cleaned house? Except, you may have just made your home dirtier."
Disease & 'Common' Household cleaners

Did you know that in over "80,000 chemicals currently used in the United States, most haven't been adequately tested for their effects on human health."
…And that "cleaning products have been responsible for nearly 10% of all toxic exposures reported to U.S. Poison Control Centers in the past few years. And half of the exposure incidents involved children under six, who can swallow or spill cleaners stored or left open inside the home." - Organic Consumer Association
Furthermore, we've learned that there are several health conditions linked not only from our family genes, but to common household cleaners and the environment we live in.

Although shocking but true, diseases like asthma, autism, tumors, cancer, reproductive disorders, hormone disruption, neurotoxicity, and much more all grow in response to irritation and inflammation in toxinated airborne particles we routinely surround ourselves with.
Call-To-Action to Change Brands
Hearing about such diseases it's a shame there is no Federal regulation of chemicals in these common household cleaning products. Neither ingredients nor products have to meet any type of safety standard through testing.
With all that said, I believe house-cleaning with "green" products in your home should be a requirement

It's bad enough we catch colds and get sick, but when the toxic chemicals we clean our homes with make us sick there should definitely be a mandatory call to action to change brands.
If you're smart you'd use healthier cleaning products. You could even create them yourself.
I know people that have used ingredients like baking soda, vinegar, essential oils, peroxide, and lemons to help with the smell (not in any particular recipe).
However, if you don't know what you are doing when mixing acids, I recommend you stick to buying these healthy alternatives.
Besides mixing products I've used these different ones:
- Mrs. Meyer's - Bathroom Cleaner
- Dr. Bronner's - Dishwashing
- Puracy - All purpose
- Simply Green - All purpose
- Aussan Natural - Good for my oven
- Amway - Variety and Concentrated
- Seventh Generation - Laundry
- Green Works - All purpose
Problems with other "Green" Cleaners
The problem I found when using these 'greener' products is most of them I have to sacrifice products that actually clean well. In fact, that's the common downfall for most green cleaners in the opinons I hear from others.
The cleaners that did clean well, either had no good scent (which is perhaps relative), not concentrated, not biodegradable, over-priced, short guarantees, minimal research, or still contained unpleasant ingredients or preservatives.
Most likely, you will have to make sacrifices in what you buy as one must always weigh their pros and cons. For me, I've always used the saying, "you get what you pay for," so paying a little extra, but maintaining an excellent product in every other area got my business.
...For me, that meant the # 1 natural nutrition company in the US, The Shaklee Corporation.

My Recommendation
Although sad, but true consumers miss out on key information needed to purchase cleaning products with better ingredients. What's worse is more and more companies are getting away with using the “natural” label on their product even though their products aren't natural.
Check out how I "define natural" to help you get a better understanding why companies are jumping on the "all-natural" craze and what you can do about it.
Make the Switch to Cleaner Products
I can only recommend you get products that are SAFE, especially around your little ones; POWERFUL against even the most stubborn dirt; GREEN for the planet; and SMART on your wallet.
Time after time that has really only left me with companies like the Shaklee Corporation.
